How did I lose 5.4 lbs! The week in review!

If you have been reading my blog I began this journey on Monday, June 21st. My starting weight was 203.9 lbs. I began with changing my eating habits to consuming between 1000-1200 calories a day and added 30 minutes of exercise (cardio) a day. I have stayed on track all week. I did splurge on Saturday a little and had a Sno Cone at the Klamath Kruise boy oh boy was it YUMMY! So for all of you that are having trouble staying on the wagon just remember that you can reward yourself at the END of the week with something small if you have stayed on track all week. That is what I am going to do every week if I stay on the wagon for a full week.

I walked, played with kids and did zumba all week. Yes I am sorry as heck from everything I did this week but I will work through it because the HURT feels so GOOD!! J I say that sarcastically!

So I do have to tell a little story about our day yesterdaywe woke up at around 7 with a little munchakin coming to our bed..HAYLEYto wake us up and get ready for the day WE did not want to wake up at 7 am on a Sunday morning.so finally I drug my butt out of bed into the shower.

We had a long list of to dos to do:

  1. Rearrange my bedroom (Dan said we have to paint then) OK!!
  2. Get the bikes ready for our bike ride tonight (and every night hereafter)
  3. Clean my house (wow did it need it)
  4. Water the garden and plant the rest of my veggies (fresh veggies, I so can't wait)
  5. Fill the pool
  6. Flood the yard (the irrigation ditch will be shut off for the week Tuesday)

So what did I/we finish on this to do list.

We painted our room, clean everything including the windows, we got the bikes ready for the night time ride, clean my house but didn't get the vacuum going and didn't finish my much needed pile of laundry (doing it as I type), Dan, watered the garden (I didn't get the rest of my veggies planted, will do it tonight), Dan filled one of the kiddie pools (the bigger one for the big kids still needs to be filled), and the yard was flooded.good day all in all.

Then we went on our "Family" bike ride and stopped at the park on our way back home so that the girls could enjoy themselves. I thought I was pretty tough and went down the slide..needless to say I "killed" myself doing this. FAT people should not go down twisty slides especially with work out pants on (they're slick). I started to go down this darn slide and was haulin' ass. My hubby was laughing so hard and thought I was going to get EJECTED from the slideLMAO!!!! I have a huge burn on my arm under my armpit that hurts like hell from being almost EJECTED from the FLIPPIN' slide! I WILL NEVER LET THE SLIDE WIN AGAIN!!! I will never where "work out pants" on a slide again.they're slick.and make you go super super FAST!!

PEACE OUT people and have a FAB week!

Week 1: 5.4 lbs down 53.9 lbs to go to goal!

And it begins…the journey of the weight loss DEVIL!!! J I started this journey exactly one week ago and yes I have lost 5.4 lbs…damn it why no more? I ask myself. The "Biggest Loser" contestants can lose up to 20 lbs on there first week at the "RANCH"! Why? Why? Why? Can't I be one of "those" people. AND….

REALITY hit me. I am not on the "RANCH", I have a family, I can't work out 20 hours a day, I don't have a personal trainer named Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper and I don't have someone breathing down my neck to see what I am inserting into my mouth at every split second of everyday or if I am using the gym every waking moment!!

But, I am a fighter and I have lost 5.4 lbs in one week! That is AMAZING! At this rate I could lose over 50 lbs in 10 weeks! Yes I said 10 weeks, can you believe that one. That would put me at the last week in August at my goal weight! Two weeks before my goal date! Am I excited about this..YES! Totally!

Someone said to me the other day, "you don't need to lose that much weight". Hell yes I do…I feel like a BLIMP! "Well, you are losing it to fast and aren't doing it the correct way". What the hell put a damper on my PARADE!

How do you know what the correct way is?

What is the correct way?

What should you lose a week to keep it off?

What should or shouldn't you do?

These are all     questions you ask yourself. What do you think?

You know there are always MEAN, not positive people out there but you just have to listen to them and not really listen to them GET IT??

I feel that I am doing the right thing and doing it the right way for me. 5.4 lbs to me is not a lot because I have so much to lose. So 5 lbs for one week is good for me. I would like to continue to lose 5 lbs a week. I know the dieting/exercising to lose weight is a complete lifestyle change and that you need to continue to do this even after your goal weight is achieved to keep it off. We can do this! I can do this!

Day 3 and I have a challenge!!!!

Yesyou read that right!

First, I need to brag that I have been on this new lifestyle change for 2 full days and have lost 2.3 lbs! Really?! Is that possible? Well with a little discipline and the right eating and exercise by golly you sure the HELL can!! YES!! I am going to be able to win this darn battle I have been fighting for the last 3 years!!! Go Beth Go!!

OK, so back to why I am writing this blog in the first place. My cousin, Ashly, has challenged me to see who can lose the most weight in just one week! YES I SAID ONE WEEK! The secret.Phase I of the Atkins Diet INDUCTION phase! So what the heckI'm going to TRY it!!

I went to the Atkins Diet website and printed out the

Phase I: Induction Acceptable Foods List (4 pages)

I read through it and I CAN do this……I thought the Atkins diet was a NO CARB diet! NOT! I can eat all fish, all fowl, all shellfish, all meat ( just have to be aware of the processed meat and you know the stuff that may be cured with sugar.), eggs, cheese, vegetables, salad garnishes, salad dressing, fats and oils (just be careful)! I am so excited about this!

So I encourage anyone to join in on this GREAT challenge!

Peace out!

The Beginning of the End

I am a wife, sister, mother, daughter, friend, cousin, child care provider and most importantly a 5'7" overweight woman ready to go from FAT to FIT in just a few short months.

Before I even begin, I'm not going to stop this time. I will keep going, regardless of how long it takes me. If I take a break (which is not something I plan on doing), I WILL get back to work. I don't want to be one of those that just give up. I've been one before, and I REFUSE to be one again. It will be a daily struggle, but I know I possess the qualities to overcome this. It's time to finally reach my destination. No more detours. No more turnarounds. I will get there, and it WILL be permanent. There's no going back. Slow and Steady. That's how I will WIN!

My Plan:

  • Consume 1000-1200 calories a day

  • Cardio 5 times a week

  • No sweets

  • Blog at least two times a week (one being my weight loss/gain)

I will need all the encouragement and advice anyone can give me. This is going to be a long and very hard journey but I know I can do it, I NEEd to do it for my health and my family.
